School was cancelled today because of the chance of snow. It wasn't snowing when we woke up so Grace wanted to go up to the track to practice the Steeple
chase in preparation of her first outdoor meet this Saturday.
Then I thought the kids and I could grab lunch before the snow starting coming down and I had a BBQ craving so we went to Lawlers. They were closed because of the "snow". Then we went to a place on Hwy 72 and they were also closed. Not being able to get BBQ just made me want it more than ever. So I started calling places and finally got through to Ted's BBQ and they were opened. We had never been to Ted's before but it was very good. The BBQ had a great smokey flavor, the staff was friendly and they had great sweet tea. And we got to meet Ted!
We came home after lunch and it started snowing shortly thereafter. It was so pretty coming down!
It snowed and snowed and snowed and kept snowing! And of course the call came that school was cancelled for tomorrow. The kids were ecstatic. They played outside all afternoon/evening long. They had snowball fights, made snow angels, sled down a neighbor's driveway, we walked around the neighborhood and we made a snowman! We had about 5 inches the last time we measured.
