Today was the H&HS Christmas Party which was at the C-12 Hangar at Marine Corps Air Station New River. The Family Readiness Officer, Lisa Montanez, was in charge and she did a fantastic job getting everything together and making sure that there was tons of food and lots of things for the kids to do.
Grace and I went early to help set up. We blew up balloons and made centerpieces for all of the tables and helped decorate the area where Santa would sit. The party started at 2:00 and there were three jumpy houses for the kids, a craft table, Scooter the clown who made balloon animals and all sorts of things and last but not least, bubble wrap. I had never thought of doing this before but it was a great idea! They rolled out bubble wrap and taped to the floor so when the kids would run across it, it would pop pop pop! They loved it! And of course there was Santa who came in with a special escort by the Fire and Rescue Squad.
We ate, played, listened to Christmas music, drank hot chocolate and had a great time. At one point, Zachary came up to me and said, "Mama, this is a great day".
