Not too long ago, we saw a Robin building a bird's nest in the tree where we hung our birdhouses. A couple of days ago, I went and looked and there were three little blue eggs in the nest. This morning we all got to see the Mama Robbin sitting on her eggs.

As most of you already know, Paradise Point Child Care Center will be closing at the end of this school year. Today they had a party at Marston Pavilion to celebrate 45 years of service. They had huge blow up slides and bouncy houses and rock climbing walls. They had several craft tables inside where the kids were able to make bookmarks, decorate an egg, color and decorate butterflies and all kinds of fun stuff. They had food, tons and tons of food - North Carolina BBQ, chicken, hush puppies, baked beans, slaw, potato salad and of course, sweet iced tea! Grace and Zachary had a blast!

Grace's Girl Scout troop had a party today at Recreation Station as one of their rewards for selling cookies. We had never been there before and we dropped her off at 11:30 with the rest of the troop. She got to play Laser Tag and go roller skating for the very first time and she loved them both! They also had pizza and cake and got to play all kinds of games. Zachary and I picked her up at 2:30 and she was so tired! We came home and she pretty much just rested all afternoon long.

It's finally here! I found out through a friend and fellow blogger (thanks Cherie!) about a website called Blurb, where you can convert your blog into a book. It will actually "slurp" (that's the word they use) your blog into a book and then you can go in and edit and make any adjustments that you want to. I have been a scrapbooker for many years but have really fallen behind in the last couple of years. And when I heard about Blurb.com, I thought what a great way to preserve those memories. So, I started working on our book a few months ago. I completed it one day last week, uploaded it, ordered it and it came today! I am so pleased with the results. It is a hard back book that is 350 pages long and it covers all of 2008 and a bit of 2007.

I've been meaning to start some sort of exercise program for awhile now and just have not been motivated to do it. But yesterday I started a program called C25k which stands for going from the couch to a 5k in 9 weeks. I have done it for 2 days now and feel really motivated but I'm telling you all about it so that I will feel even more accountable. Okay, I said it. I have started this program and I am going to continue doing it. Click on the link to check it out. It's pretty cool, especially if you have an iPhone or iPod.

Funny story - tonight at bedtime, I read Grace and Zachary the story of Noah and the ark. At the end, there are a couple of questions and things to think about. One was to name all of your favorite animals and then praise God for saving all of the animals in the flood. We took turns naming our favorite animals and one of Zachary's was a pig. When it came time to say our prayers, Zachary asked God to help him make good choices (from another story we read) and he thanked God for his Momma and Daddy, all the trees and our house and then he thanked God for pigs because they give us bacon! I couldn't help but laugh and it is true. Zachary loves bacon and he wanted to thank God for pigs because he knows that we get bacon from pigs.

Tonight when Zachary was in the bathtub, I was telling him to do something and he wasn't listening to me. I asked him why could he not listen to me and mind me. Without missing a beat, he said "I have two side to my brain - a good side and a mean side. The good side is sick so I'm listening to the mean side." I didn't know what to say to this. I ended up telling him that he needed to get the good side well again so he could start using it instead of the mean side.

I woke up this morning wanting to go and buy some hanging plants and flowers. Dave is usually the one who does all of the yard work, including planting flowers. But since he's gone, I thought that I could just plant a few. So, the kids and I went and bought a few hanging impatiens and some impatiens for me to plant. We came home and I went to work. It was a beautiful day and Grace and Zachary were playing outside. First they had water guns, then they decided they wanted on their swimsuits so they could play in the sprinkler. The water was very cold and they didn't play too long in it but they had fun while they did.

We got up this morning to Jake and Maddi hiding eggs for Grace and Zachary. When we came out, they had already hidden 44 eggs so I got the ones that we dyed yesterday and some that I bought and Lara, Glen and I hid those. On your mark, get set, go! And off they went between the two yards. Everyone found several eggs and Grace and Zachary each found one of the golden prize eggs.
