Tropical Storm Hanna

North Carolina had our first hurricane threat of the season with Tropical Storm Hanna. Schools let out early on Friday in preparation of the storm and it came ashore at the Cape Fear inlet which is about an hour away. The winds picked up during the night and we woke up to no power and lots of wind but no rain. We walked across the street to see how high the river had risen and the kids loved playing in the wind. Power was restored shortly after noon thank goodness! Hopefully this will be our only tropical storm/hurricane that we have to deal with this season.
