Zachary's Field Trip to the Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium

Zachary's preschool class took a field trip to the Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium on May 20, 2008 and they all had so much fun. When we first got there, the kids were all running around crazy and his teacher, Mrs. Ariel, in a very calm voice said something like "okay boys and girls, I need Mrs. Ariel's class to come here" and all the kids immediately perked up and listened and obeyed. Then she said "I need you to turn on your listening ears" and they all went "click, click". I was absolutely amazed at how she got them to listen and follow directions. If only they would do that for all us moms at home, right? Anyway, we had a great time seeing all the different kinds of fish. We also got to see an otter exhibit when they fed the otters and we got to see how they go around and hunt for their food and we also got to see divers in the fish tank with the sharks. The kids loved that! Afterwards, we had a picnic lunch then headed home.

One of the divers is showing the kids a shark tooth.

Touching an otter skin.

They loved the eels!

Some type of little jellyfish.

Watching the otter exhibit.
